The Saint James Trojans (6-5-2) returned from Spring Break with a non-conference game against LAMP (4-2-0) at the new YMCA Soccer Facility. Trey Nelson scored first for LAMP in the 13th minute to give them the early lead. The remainder of the first half turned into a defensive battle with Saint James’s back line holding strong and the half ended with LAMP leading 1 - 0. Saint James had 2 shots on goal for the half and keeper Deshaun Lewis had 5 saves with one allowed. LAMP had six shots on goal and their keeper Cody Wright had two saves.
LAMP’s Juan Parada came out in the second half and scored a goal in the 47th minute off of a deflected pass. Both defenses continued to battle and Saint James pressed hard during the most of the second half but was unable to score and LAMP held on to win 2 - 0.
The Trojans ended the night with 11 shots, 6 on goal, while LAMP had 21 shots with 11 on goal. Deshaun Lewis ended the evening with nine saves and LAMP’s Cody Wright held Saint James scoreless with his six saves. LAMP had ten corners to four for the Trojans. Richard Williamson was named Man of the Match.
