The Saint James Trojans (6-4-1, 1-2) varsity boys defeated Montgomery Catholic (0-5, 0-2) 6 – 0 at Catholic Field in its third area game. Coleman Taylor scored first for Saint James at the 4 minute mark in the first half. Ben Olree then scored his first goal in the 32nd minute with Tristan Elmore driving the field and scoring in the 33rd minute making the score 3 – 0 at the end of the first half. Saint James had four shots on goal and Deshaun Lewis had two saves. Catholic had two shots on goal and one save.
Saint James' defense stepped up in the second half not allowing Catholic any shots on goal for the rest of the game. Chase Woodard scored off a deflected shot by John Robert Bradwell in the 48th minute. Ben Olree scored his second goal of the night in the 50th minute and Jacob Erickson wrapped up the scoring for Saint James with a goal in the 71st minute.
For the game, Saint James took 21 shots, 13 on goal, while Montgomery Catholic took only two shots, both on goal. Dashaun Lewis saved both Knight shots and Catholic’s Sam McLaughlin had seven saves and six allowed. Saint James had seven corner kicks and Catholic had none. Chase Woodard was named Man of the Match.
