3-9-13  SAINT JAMES 5, Tallassee 1

The Saint James Trojans (5-2-1) defeated Tallassee High School (1-5) at Carlisle Field by a 5 – 1 margin in a game which was rescheduled from an earlier weather postponement. Coleman Adams scored first for Saint James in the seventh minute with an assist from Elliot Burrow and then again in the sixteenth minute with an assist from Chase Woodard.  The Saint James defense did a good job of keeping the ball on Tallassee’s side of the field allowing them only three shots in the first half with Deshaun Lewis getting two saves.  The score at the end of the first half was 2 - 0.

Cody Gantt scored in the 55th minute for Tallassee cutting the Trojans' lead in half, but James McNeil connected on a beautiful shot from the right side of the box in the 61st minute and Ben Olree dribbled the ball through Tallassee’s defenders to score in the 68th minute.  Jacob Erickson finished out the half with Saint James' fifth goal in the 77th minute. Tallassee did not have another shot during the second half.

Saint James had 28 shots with 17 on goal and 6 corner kicks. Tallassee ended the game with 4 shots, 3 on goal, and no corners.  Deshaun Lewis ended the day with a pair of saves while Tallassee’s Sawyer Munsch had 12 saves. Coleman Taylor was named "Man of the Match".
