Saint James scored six first half touchdowns, K.J. Jackson tossed three more touchdown passes, and Cosner Harrison added three touchdowns in the rushing department as the Trojans cruised to a 52 - 24 victory over the BTW-Tuskegee Golden Eagles to improve to 5 - 1 overall and 4 - 0 in 4A Region 2.

Saint James was a whirling offensive dervish early, picking up an amazing 12 first downs in the opening quarter alone.  On the first drive, Clint Houser returned the kickoff out to the Trojan 38 and picked up a first down with a 10 yard reception.  After a penalty and a Harrison run, Jackson found Cooper Wright open in the near front of the endzone, and he just snuck the ball over for a 25 yard touchdown catch.  Jake Huff converted all seven of his extra point attempts, and the first gave Saint James a 7 point lead less than three minutes into the game.

The Trojans reckoned the Golden Eagle kickoff return game would be a serious threat.  Huff kicked off and the ball struck an upman and wobbled to the side where it was fallen upon by Houser and Saint James quickly earned a second possession.  A pass interference penalty advanced the ball to the Eagle 25, and four plays later Harrison picked up the first of his three rushing touchdowns on a 9 yard scamper and a 14 - 0 Trojan lead.

The lead was very quickly shortened.  Another short kickoff was recovered by BTW and actually advanced a few yards into Trojan territory.  On first down, Elijah Hall lifted a short pass to Cameron Whitfield who outraced and outwitted potential tacklers to clear sailing on the far sidelines for a quick 49 yard catch and run score.  A two point conversion pass failed, but the Golden Eagles had cut into the lead at 14 - 6 just more than 4 minutes into the game.

Saint James put another touchdown up in just over a minute and a half.  A.J. Alozie fell on a short kickoff at the Trojan 41.  Harrison picked up 22 yards on two carries, and then Jackson found Houser for a 37 yard touchdown where he outraced several potential tacklers as well.  The Huff extra point raised the margin back to a two score lead, and still more than half of the opening quarter was remaining to be played.

BTW was forced into the first punt of the ballgame and a holding penatly on the return pushed Saint James back to their own 10 yard line.  The Trojans embarked on a 5 play 90 yard drive to score.  Harrison raced the final 50 yards on the first play of the second quarter to give Saint James a 28 - 6 lead.  The Eagles attempted a fourth down deep in their own territory but could not convert, giving the Trojans a short 23 yard field.  Bardley Thomas caught a 13 yard pass on third down to advance the ball to the 8 yard line, and Harrison ripped off his third touchdown with an 8 yard carry to give Saint James a 35 - 6 lead with almost 8 minutes still remaining until halftime.  A kickoff which landed at the one yard line without going into the endzone resulted in a scarmbling Eagle return, and on the first play Clayton Craft intercepted an Elijah Hall pass and returned it 14 yards for another score and a 42 - 6 lead/

The Eagles would add a touchdown late in the half as Mikael King caught an 11 yard pass from Hall for a touchdown to cut the lead to 42 - 12.  Saint James actually had a chance to add late points after Saint James forced a lost fumble on a sack and a Huff 45 yard field goal attempt came up just short, but the Trojans roared into the locker room with the 30 point lead.

It did not take the Trojans long to add another touchdown.  After the Eagles went three and out on the opening drive of the third quarter, Jonathan Harris ripped off a 39 yard run on his only carry of the night and Cooper Wright was wide open across the middle for a 30 yard touchdown reception on the enxt play and the lead grew to 49 - 12 and the starters earned nearly an entire half off as the Trojan reserves stepped in.  The Eagles failed on a fourth down conversion in Trojan territory.  The running combination of backup quarterback Pruitt Connor and runningback Cole Anderson moved the ball deep into Eagle territory where Wynston Redden was called on to convert a 23 yard field goal, which he did, and the lead grew to 40 at 52 - 12.

BTW would score two touchdowns afterwards in the second half on a 42 yard touchdown run by Courtney Martin in the third quarter and a long 69 yard touchdown pass from Hall to King - the second such connection of the game - a 69 yarder - which led to the final score of 52 - 24.

Saint James looks forward to a key road region game against the Dale County Warriors who will enter the contest just one game behind Saint James in the region at 3 - 1.
