Saint James captured its first ever Capital City Conference football championship with a perfect 5 - 0 record over city teams, one which has rarely if ever been duplicated, as the Trojans defeated their Vaughn Road neighbors, the Catholic Knights, 28 - 15.

The Trojans scored on their opening drive with Jake McMillan's first of three touchdowns, a seven yard run.  Michael Reid recovered a Catholic fumble inside the Knight 20 on the next drive and Speed McDonald scored from 14 yards out several plays later.   Justin Morgan scored on a long 56 yard run for the Knights, but the Trojans answered before halftime with a 34 yard pass to McMillan from Craig Bowman.  McMillan added a one yard run in the third quarter for his third touchdown, and Lee Hassell added all four extra points.  Teddy Smith scored on a 3 yard run late in the game, and a two point conversion ended the scoring at 28 - 15.
