October 4, 1996  Calera Field.    Game conditions:  Not yet available

The Eagles scored on their first two offensive plays - a 49 yard pass from Danny Keicher to Chuck Horn and a 79 yard run by Eric Johnson - and later withstood a Trojan rally as Keicher scored a pair of touchdowns himself as he helped wrap up a Calera victory over Saint James,  35 - 21.

The touchdown pass on the first offensive play by Calera would be one of only two passes the Eagles would attempt all night.  The Trojans intercepted the other.  However, the Eagles picked up over 340 yards on 40 carries to overcome the shortage of passing output.

Jason Smith scored for Saint James on short touchdown runs of 6 and 3 yards, and Alan Olsen tossed an 11 yard touchdown pass to Rick Fidel in the third quarter immediately after a blocked punt.  The Trojans wasted two chances to score late in the game.  An illegal procedure call deep in Eagle territory led to a missed field goal attempt, and after a turnover, the Trojans returned the favor by fumbling away at the Calera two yard line.

Both Keicher and Johnson totaled 111 yards rushing; Keicher on 6 carries and Johnson on 12.  B.J. Nevitt added 56 yards on 13 carries.  Along with the 49 yards receiving by Chuck Horn, he added 52 rushing yards as well.
