Chris McClinton threw two touchdown passes, including a key one just before the half after a costly Trojan turnover, as the visiting Trinity Wildcats easily defeated Saint James 35 - 6 in a Capital City Conference matchup.

The Wildcats stopped the Trojans on their first drive of the game and started in good field position.  Matthew Coblentz scored on a 44 yard run for Trinity's first touchdown, and all-state kicker Roman Figurilli kicked the first of five consecutive extra points giving the Wildcats a 7 - 0 lead four minutes into the game.

The teams traded several possessions, but Saint James was backed up to its own one yard line and faced a fourth down and 31 midway through the second quarter.  After a punt which was heavily rushed and only traveled 18 yards, Trinity scored two plays later on a 12 yard run by Brad Thomas.  The extra point upped the lead to 14 midway through the second period.

Saint James finally got some momentum.  On fourth and 10 from their own 45, they opted to go for the first down and were successful on a 25 yard screen pass to Hunter Pappas.  Several plays later, Pappas took a handoff and raced 19 yards into the endzone for the Trojans first, and only, score.  The extra point failed, but Saint James had cut the lead to one possession at 14 - 6 late in the first half.

The Trojans appeared to have extended their momentum as they stopped the Wildcats on three plays.  However, a muffed punt recovered by Trinity gave the Wildcats one last chance to score before halftime, and they promptly did so .  Chris McClinton tossed an 11 yard touchdown pass to Coblentz just before halftime and Trinity was up 21 - 6 as the teams headed for the halftime locker rooms.

Trinity scored on their first two possessions of the third quarter to put the game away.  Frank Dean was the recipient of McClinton's second touchdown pass of the game, this one a 37 yarder, to push the lead to 28 - 6.  After another Saint James punt, Matt Teague scored less than 3 minutes later from 22 yards out.  Trinity led 35 - 6 and allowed their substitutes to stalemate the Trojans for the remainder of the game, not allowing them any serious scoring opportunities.

Trinity rushed for 181 yards on only 26 carries, while the Trojans carried 42 times for 102 yards.  Each team completed four passes; Trinity receivers gained 67 yards and scored two touchdowns, while the Trojans were held to 38.  Saint James did not commit any turnovers other than the crucial muffed punt, but eight individual five yard penalties hurt their offensive drives repeatedly.
