David Shipman scored two touchdowns, one on a blocked punt recovery and another on a fumble return, while Matt Denard ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Bart Yancey threw for one and ran for another as the Lions built up a huge halftime lead and cruised to a 42 - 26 victory over the visiting Trojans.

After the Trojans were stopped on their initial possession, the Lions took advantage of a short field and scored on a Denard five yard run.  After a defensive penalty on the extra point, Yancey tossed a two point conversion pass to Trip Blalock and the Lions were up 8 - 0.  Saint James methodically drove down the field and answered with a one yard quarterback keeper from Wade Hartley, but his two point run failed, and the Lions remained on top 8 - 6.

Several plays later, Yancey connected on a long pass with Shannon Hartsfield for a 63 yard touchdown.  Chris Hyche kicked the first of his four extra points, and Briarwood's lead was now a two possession one at 15 - 6.

The second quarter featured continuous disaster for Saint James, starting with a punt blocked recovered by David Shipman in the end zone for another Lion touchdown.  Hyche's kick gave the Lions a 16 point lead early in the second quarter.  They would score two more touchdowns, one on a thirty yard scamper by Yancey and a second five yard touchdown run by Denard.  One of the two extra points was good, giving Briarwood a seemingly safe 35 - 6 lead at halftime.

The Trojans would score three touchdowns in the second half, the latter two against mostly Lion reserves.  Wade Hartley ran in again from a yard and tossed a touchdown pass to Billy Byrd, and Lucas Harris scored from a yard.  Briarwood's lone second half scoring play was on a 65 yard fumble return by the pesky David Shipman, who scored his second touchdown while on the defensive side of the ball as the Lions simply outmanned the visiting Trojans.
