Scheduled: September 15, 1988 Tuskegee Field.
The D.C. Wolfe
coaching staff notified Saint James the Thursday morning of
this scheduled game they would be forfeiting. The
Pirates only had eleven players physically able to dress out
and play, due to a number of injuries and several suspensions
resulting from incidents in their previous week's game against
South Macon. The weather and field conditions were
also poor, and the game would probably have been postponed
until at least Saturday, as Tuskegee Institute High School had
a home game scheduled for Friday night on the same field the
Thursday night game was scheduled for. The Trojans were
awarded a 2 - 0 forfeit victory, which was later changed
to a 1 - 0 victory after redefinition of forfeiture rules,
their first such ever.
