If ever the "time of possession" statistic was misleading, especially in the first half, this would be the example game.  Saint James ran 38 plays from scrimmage, holding the Eagles to a mere 13.  Saint James blocked a Montgomery Academy punt after the first three plays and drove down to the Eagle eleven before botching a snap on a field goal attempt.  On the next play, Eagle Will Blount ran a quarterback sweep misdirection to perfection as most of the defenders were pursuing the back on the opposite side, and he cruised 77 yards for a touchdown.

Saint James fumbled the ensuing kickoff return, and the Eagles capitalized again on the first play on a 23 yard pass from Blount to his split end Robb Newton.  The fumble return touchdown occurred on a strange play where a desperation lateral simply lay on the ground for several seconds before Dee Fitzpatrick realized no whistle had been blown.  He picked up the ball and dashed for an easy 50 yard fumble return touchdown, and the Eagles had 21 points before making their only non-touchdown first down of the first half.

Saint James was basically held in check in the second half.  Hamp Greene, kicker extraordinaire, added a touchdown from his fullback position, and reserve Bill Eskridge added a late touchdown as the Eagles literally blanked the Trojans.  This results continued a peculiar streak where one of the two teams in each of Saint James' last four games posted a zero in the score column, but it was neither always the Trojans nor always the opponent.
