The Saint
James defense stifled the Trinity offense for the first two-thirds
of the game while taking a halftime lead after a Jeff Stevenson
touchdown run on the first play of the second quarter.
However, the Wildcats scored three times in less than eight
minutes on consecutive drives. A fumbled punt snap recovered
by Trinity's Price Bishop gave the Wildcats the ball on the Trojan
three to set up the first in a series of three quick scores.
Will Marks scored the initial touchdown, and Tanner Grant caught a
two point conversion pass. Craig Murray added a field goal,
and Frank Pass scored the final Trinity touchdown with a six yard
run.
Mark Kitchens led the Trojans in rushing, but was held to only 52
yards on 15 carries. Stevenson's fourth quarter touchdown
cut the lead to one possession, but the Trojans never threatened
thereafter.
