August 30, 1985.  Collier Field.   Game conditions:  see below

Despite potential threats from Hurricane Elena, the decision was made by both teams in advance to go ahead and play this game, unlike many others in the Montgomery metro area which were postponed until Monday or Tuesday the following week.  Johnny Redding continued his own storm surge from the 1984 season by rushing for 194 yards on 19 carries, part of the Trojans' 295 yards team total, as the Trojans defeated the Wolverines 38 - 18.  Redding added four touchdowns and caught several passes from Jeff Stevenson which helped set up the other two scores.  Saint James piled up a school record (at that time) 24 first downs, while South Macon added 16 of their own, mostly on the passing of Richard Key, who threw three touchdown passes.  South Macon did commit 11 penalties for 113 yards which seriously curtailed their offensive progress.
