November 9, 1984.  Collier Field.  Game conditions:  not yet available

The Trojans' first appearance in the Alabama state high school varsity football playoffs was not a successful one, thanks in great part to the strong arm of Mustang quarterback Tim Edwards.  He threw for 255 yards, including a pair of 62 yard touchdown passes, and James Gaston added two touchdowns on short runs as Isabella eliminated Saint James from further playoff competition, 39 - 7.

The Trojan offense began playing catchup after two quick touchdowns early in the second quarter, and was held to 133 total yards offense for the game, only 90 on the ground.  Johnny Redding was limited to
58 yards on 25 carries.  Ben Gross, still recovering from a previous week injury, did throw a touchdown pass to Andy Johnson on the second play of the fourth quarter, but a pair of Trojan turnovers led to the final two Mustang scores, sealing Isabella's first round playoff victory.
