November 2, 1984.  Alabama Christian Field.  Game conditions:  not yet available

Saint James shook off a very sluggish performance for the first three quarters by scoring three touchdowns in the final thirteen minutes of the game to conclude its best regular season ever with a 26 - 7 defeat of the homestanding Alabama Christian Eagles.

Johnny
Redding pushed his season total over 1300 yards rushing with 149 yards on 15 carries, 62 of those on an opening drive scoring romp.  Tommy Shoemaker's run before the half allowed the Eagles to tie the score at seven and the game remained tied until the last minute of the third quarter when fullback Tommy Aplin broke loose for a 30 yard touchdown scamper.  He added a twelve yard run late in the game, and after an interception of the Eagles on the first play of their next drive, Jeff Stevenson, replacing the injured Ben Gross, snuck in from the one several plays later for the final margin of victory as the Trojans prepared for their first trip ever to the Alabama High School State playoffs, not having to travel away from Collier Field as they had completed an undefeated area schedule.
