Saint James' school record
twelve game winning streak came to an end as 2A Montgomery
Academy scored four consecutive touchdowns, three of those on long runs by
Travis Gordon which made up a majority of his 184 yards
rushing, as the Trojans fell to defeat the first time this
season 27 - 14 to the homestanding Eagles.
Saint James took the lead early in the second quarter on a
fullback blast by Tommy Aplin, before Gordon broke loose to
conclude three of the next four Eagle drives with
touchdowns. Andy Johnson, extra point specialist, did
catch a 12 yard pass late in the game against the Eagle
substitutes to wrap up the evening's scoring.
