November 6, 1981.

The Alabama Christian Eagles had only won three games in their previous five years of varsity football.  However, in 1981, the Eagles righted their ship on the way to a very impressive 9 - 1 season.  Their only loss to Montgomery Academy cost them a worst to first shot in the state playoffs, but ACA concluded its season at home with a convincing 28 - 7 win over the Trojans, which ended the season on the opposite side of the ledger at 1 - 9.

The Trojans actually led in the game, driving nearly the entire length of the field on their opening drive, with Wyatt Evans scoring from two yards out.  However, Joel Best's passing, and the rushing combination of Andrew Yates (141 yards) and Mike Newton (78 yards) were a large portion of the Eagles' 315 total rushing yards.  Newton and Philippe Cyr caught each touchdown passes from Best for the Eagles as they were victorious against the Trojans for the first time in seven attempts.
