The 1981
season started out on a sour note for the Trojans as
eventual all-stater (and college and professional star)
Tommy Agee ran back the opening kickoff eighty yards for a
touchdown, and later added a pair of rushing touchdowns as
part of his 194 yards rushing before being removed from
the game early in the third quarter, as the Red Devils
crushed Saint James 37 - 0. The Trojans threatened
early in the second quarter, while only down by twelve
points, but fumbled on the Maplesville 27. The only
other time they crossed into Red Devil territory was on
the last drive of the game, when a pass was intercepted to
stop the final potential Trojan scoring threat.
