November 15,
1974.
The Trojans finished their season against a strong Westminster Christian
team. Hal Hearn rushed for 106 yards on 12 carries
with two touchdowns to lead the Westminster offense, and
the defense intercepted four passes, one in each quarter, to end
Trojan drives. Alan Spear did pass for 144
yards, completing 12 of his 28 attempts, including a
three yard touchdown to Bud Winn in the final quarter of
the season.
Saint James applied for full membership in the Alabama
High School Athletic Association prior to the season,
and received it during the season, making 1975 the first
year where the Trojans would be
assigned to an "area" and would become state-playoff
eligible for the first time.
