Powerful Saint Paul's came to town with Greg Byrd and Vic Dubose alternating the quarterbacking and kicking duties, passing and running the Saints to a victory over the Trojans.  Dubose threw two touchdown passes, while Byrd threw one touchdown pass and added an early two point conversion pass on a bobbled snap.  Danny Dean's first quarter touchdown run was one of only two serious scoring threats in the game by Saint James.  The other, in the final quarter, was stopped on fourth down at the Saint Paul's two yard line.  The Trojans were held to only 16 yards rushing and 100 yards overall, while the Saints rushed for 138 yards and added another 144 in the air.  Three interceptions also hurt the Trojans' cause, one of which was returned for a second quarter touchdown.
