September
13, 1974.
For the first 44 minutes of the game, the
Trojans defense simply stymied the homestanding Eagles.
Danny Dean's seven yard touchdown run was the only offensive
tally in the first half. The Eagles fumbled the second half
opening kickoff return to set up the Chris Stuckey touchdown, and
John Cameron's late score, at the time appearing to be 'gravy'
turned out to be most necessary as Montgomery Academy finally
mustered some offense in the last four minutes. However,
they were unable to recover a second onside kick after the
Bollinger touchdown pass with only seconds remaining as the
Trojans won their first ever game against a city rival.
