October 28, 1973.

The first ever varsity "STJ Day", a predecessor to what we all know now as Homecoming, was fortuitous for Queen Brenda Kelly, but not so for the Trojan footballers.  Steve Lincoln ran for two Montgomery Academy touchdowns and two different quarterbacks threw touchdown passes to Jud Bryan as the Eagles took command early in the first ever meeting between these city rivals.   The Eagles failed to convert an extra point kick, but two different receivers each caught two point conversion passes from different tossers as well.

Mike Eley did add a late short touchdown and a two point conversion run of his own to prevent a shutout.
