GAME 1:  Lowndes County 14, Saint James 7

SCORING SUMMARY:  (not yet available)

August 31, 1973.

Saint James took a first half lead of 7 - 0 over the Lowndes County Red Devils on an unknown touchdown.  However, in the second half, Devil quarterback Parker Cheatham tossed a 35 yard touchdown pass to Ricky Russell, and then scored on a quarterback sneak from the Trojan one in the fourth quarter to earn the victory in the first official varsity football game played by the Trojans.

The Trojans punted ten times, and only managed 36 net yards of offense.  The game could easily have been far more lopsided, but the Red Devils committed five turnovers, including losing four fumbles, while the Trojans only threw one interception and lost no fumbles themselves.
