A serious offensive struggle for both
teams. After the Eagles built a 22 - 18 lead at
halftime, they extended to 8 at the end of the third quarter
as Saint James could only score four free throws and no
baskets in the third quarter. The Trojans turned the
table holding the Eagles to only one basket and 6 free throws
in the final quarter. Saint James' Jake Yohn had a
chance to send the game to overtime with a three point attempt
with 2.8 seconds left. After missing the first free
throw and making the second, the third was intentionally
missed, the Eagles rebounded and were immediately
fouled. Saint James actually had a desperation chance
with less than a second remaining as the Eagles could only
convert 1 of their two late free throws, but the desperation
toss came up short and ACA secured the victory.
Hayes Hunt led the Eagles with 12 points. Jalen Clark
and Caden Perry each added 8. Bradley Thomas was the
leading scorer in the game and for the Trojans with 16.
K.J. Jackson added 8.
Both teams were less than 50 percent shooting free throws in a
foul flurry of a game. The Trojans were just 15 of 31
while ACA was only 10 of 23.
