Taylor Nelson broke open a close game midway through the third quarter with a three point play and later
brought the crowd to their feet with a breakaway dunk as the Trojans finished the home half of their area play
undefeated with an 11 point victory over the visiting Handley Tigers.  The Trojans held an early 18-11 lead, but
Terrence Stegall scored all 9 of his first half points early in the second quarter and Handley led by as many as 4.
The Trojans battled back with a Chris Roberts basket just before the halftime buzzer to tie the score at 31.   The
Tigers led 38-37 midway through the third quarter, but the Trojans outscored the Tigers 16-2 the rest of the way
and held a comfortable lead for the remainder of the game.  Nelson scored 10 in the first half and 15 in the second
half, including 6 for 7 at the free throw line, where the Trojans shined this night, missing only 4 of 20 attempts.

St. James scored the final four points of the first half in the last few seconds, breaking open a slow paced game, and
Hillary Barnes and Elizabeth Richards each started the second half with a pair of three pointers as the Lady Trojans
defeated the Lady Tigers by 14.  Handley never led in the game, but was as close as 16-14 with 2 minutes remaining
in the half before Laura Beth Freeman drilled her three pointer, and Katie Smith added a freethrow after time had
expired in the second quarter.  Only once more did Handley get as close as 4 points, at 26-22, but the Trojans went
on a scoring tear at the end of the third quarter, an 18-2 run including old-time three point plays by Lauren Kloess and
Carrie Adams.  The Lday Tigers could never close the gap to fewer than 13 in the final quarter.
