Adam Mills converted a school record 10 three point shots, unofficially only missing two attempts, as the
Trojans broke open a close game in the late second and third quarters, registering an area win over the
visiting Tallassee Tigers.  Tallassee had an early 17-10 lead after a Roderick Parker three pointer, but Mills
hit three threes in the last few minutes of the first quarter, the final one giving the Trojans a 21-19 lead.
He added a three early in the second quarter, two in the third, and four in a three minute period of the final
stanza to set the gymnasium and school records.  Tallassee remained close in the second quarter, trailing
only by 4, at 32-28, before two Chris Roberts and two Jordan Kirkland field goals closed out the half for
St. James with an 8-0 run, and they never looked back.  The game was delayed nearly 15 minutes midway
through the fourth quarter when a player diving for a loose ball turned over a huge cooler full of iced liquid
which poured onto a corner of the gym floor.  It was just after this delay when Mills hit three of his three
pointers in four Trojan possessions.

The Lady Trojans scored the first 23 points of the game, and scored the last 23 points of the third quarter as well,
as they defeated the outmatched Lady Tigers.  Canita Henderson's free throw with 4:57 remaining in the half was
the first score for Tallassee.  For the second consecutive game, all 10 Trojans scored, 9 of them in the first half as
the second team was on the floor for a lengthy duration.  Four different Trojans had 6 points in the first half, and
Hillary Barnes and Lisa Bright were the feature scorers in the second half.  Tallassee did knock down five threes of
their own, two by Latoya Henderson, but St. James just had too many weapons this night for Tallassee to recover
from their deep early deficit.

JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS    ST. JAMES (4-8) 47, Tallassee 46

STJ 3 Pointers:         Eley (2), Henry (2)                       FT (team):       13 of 21  (61.9%)

In clearly the most exciting game of the day, Tyler Henry's last minute three pointer and Landon
Eley's two freethrows with 3.7 seconds remaining gave the Trojans an exciting come from behind
victory over the Tigers.  The Trojans got off to a fast first quarter start, but did not convert a
field goal in the second quarter, allowing Tallassee to ovcrtake them.  Tallassee led, but by no more
than 5 points at any time, during the entire third quarter, but the Trojans scored 7 of the first 9
points of the final stanza to take a 39-36 lead with 3:18 remaining.  After a time out, the Tigers
scored the next 8 points to take another 5 point lead, but three Trojan freethrows and Henry's
huge three pointer gave St. James a 45-44 lead with less than a minute remaining.  Tallassee
added two freethrows with 18.8 left to take a 46-45 lead, but Eley was fouled as he was trying
to maneuver for a game winning shot. He connected on both halves of a one and one situation
for the 1 point lead, and a desperation shot at the buzzer off the backboard grazed the front rim
and St. James had an exciting victory in a hard-played seesaw game.
