game 1 SAINT JAMES 11, LAMP 2
The Trojans scored 5 runs in
the bottom of the fourth inning to
break open a close game and win the Area series.
Saint James plated two in the bottom of the first on a
single by
Ethan Beard and a walk to Zac Russell to start the
inning.
Beard scored on an infield error and Russell scored on a
Tyson Eley
ground out.
The Trojans added two in the bottom of the second .
Owen
McNeal was hit by a pitch and Adam Garnett and Jeffrey Ford
followed with walks. Beard drove in courtesy runner
Kevin
Taylor with a ground out and Garnett scored on a fielders
choice.
LAMP cut the lead in half with both of their runs in the top
of the
third. After two were out, Oliver Stephens singled and
Landon
Lockwood walked. Stephens would later score on a wild
pitch
and Lockwood would score on a Junseo Park single.
Saint James would not score in the bottom of the third
inning but
added five in the fourth and single runs in the fifth and
sixth for
the final margin. K.J. Jackson and McNeal each drove
in a
pair of runs with singles in the decisive fourth.
Carson
Howard's single followed Zac Russell's double for the fifth
inning
score, and Adam Garnett would knock in Tyson Eley for the
final
run.
Reed Mangum pitched the final 3½ innings for the Trojans to
garner
the victory and the series win.
3-19-2021 game 2 SAINT JAMES 14,
LAMP 4 (6 innings)
The Trojans earned a doubleheader and series
sweep with the nightcap which featured numerous substitutes
on both sides.
LAMP took a brief 1 - 0 lead on a Walker Parsons
single. The
Trojans fired back with four in the bottom of the second and
five
in the bottom of the third. Tyson Eley and Jeffrey
Ford each
drove in three runs in the combined innings with base
hits.
Landon Lockwood drove in LAMP's second run with a fifth
inning
single. Saint James responded with two bases loaded
walks in
the bottom of the fifth for an 11 - 2 lead. LAMP added
two
runs in the sixth before the Trojans ended the game early in
the
bottom of the sixth with three consecutive walks after one
out. Michael Winn and Clint Shores, the winning
pitcher,
knocked in the baserunners for the final tally.
